The Mission of the Education Subcommittee is to provide a forum to discuss educational opportunities, information, and resources for the adult and juvenile incarcerated population throughout San Diego County.
The Education Subcommittee seeks to partner with local non-profits, for-profit, government agencies, universities, community colleges, and vocational schools to provide educational information and support for the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated returning to our community.
Over the past year, the committee was involved with several action items:
Drafting the education and transportation section for the White Paper
Letter to Councilwoman of District 4 regarding GED/HiSET testing vouchers and transportation for formerly incarcerated individuals
Our committee committed to helping and assisting the reentry population in pursuing education and creating a sustainable future pathway while reintegrating back to society successfully.
Created Education Resource Guide 2022 for Reentry Population
Occurs the fourth Tuesday of every month at 9a.m.
